The Phantom of the Opera animated feature is an adaptation of Gaston Leroux's novel of the same title. It is a story of disfigured and misunderstood music genius Erik who lives in the opera basements, and his infatuation he holds for his protegee Christine Daaé is so strong that even her heart cannot resist. Christine, the young opera singer, is torn between her mentor and the love for her childhood sweetheart Raoul.
2D Animation
Decision to use 2D animation as technique for this project was made based on the actual story and the targeted audience.
2D traditional animation is very time consuming but a beautiful craft, and made with hand painted backgrounds, is the best suited for this tale. The production of The Phantom of the Opera will last around 18 months after which it will enter its post-production stage.
